Peak View Stage, Shenandoah Park
Free and Open to the Public
Luray, VA - Shakespeare in the Park! Traveling Players' High School Ensemble performs A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare's magical tale of love and illusion. It's a busy night in the woods of Athens. Four desperate lovers are on the run from the law - and from each other. A band of laborers struggle to rehearse a play for the king. And the long quarrel between the king and queen of faeries is spiraling out of control. But when these three stories are intertwined by the mischievous faerie Puck, no one is safe from the confusion.
The performance is free and open to the public; families are welcome. The show will be approximately 75-90 minutes long.
Traveling Players Ensemble's mission is to bring great theatre into the great outdoors. Founded in 2003, Traveling Players Ensemble has been invited to perform at the Kennedy Center's Millenium Stage, Colonial Williamsburg, Shenandoah National Park, Reston's Multicultural Festival, and the International Children's Festival at Wolf Trap. In 2007, Traveling Players Ensemble was recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) by being selected as one of 25 of the nation's "Summer School in the Arts."
Traveling Players Ensemble is hosting several summer camps at The Madeira School in McLean, VA. Throughout the school year, they teach weekend classes in classical acting, improvisation, mask, and movement.

The Arts Council is funded in part by Fairfax County, corporations, foundations, individuals, and the Virginia Commission for the Arts, an agency supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
