Fishing in America on the Filene Center stage each day at 2:00 p.m.
This Grammy-Award nominated musical duo will bring their unique

New York Goofs
New York Goofs are America's premiere clown troupe featuring founders
Slappy and Monday. These elite New Age Vaudevillians have a style
that has been called "hilarious" and a kind of "demented
Ed Sullivan Show" by The New York Times.

2005 INTERNATIONAL YOUTH PERFORMERS
Georgia
From the country of Georgia, the choreographic ensemble Chveni
Shvilebi, will be coming to the Festival for the first time.
Based in the capital city of Tbilisi, these award-winning young
dancers, ages 9-14 years old, demonstrate the great professionalism
and amazing technique of Georgian national dancing. Dressed
in impressive traditional costume, the children display an extraordinary
variety of athletic footwork, leaps and splits including the exciting
sword dances.
India
Also coming to the Festival for the first time, all the way from
Udiapur, India will be the children of Bharat Kala Sangam.
Dressed in beautiful costumes, these boys and girls, ages 10-14
years old, will perform the traditional dances of the Rajasthan
region of India which include some elaborate feats of balance and
movement.
Mexico
Returning this year to the Festival are the young dancers from
Folklore Ballet American School of Puebla, Mexico. These children,
ages 8-14, will perform prehispanic dances and folk dances from
various Mexican regions. In traditionally elaborate and colorful
costumes, the dancers will present an exciting variety of regional
dances, many dating back to ancient Mexican mythology.
Nigeria
For the first time in eight years, a group from Africa will be
traveling to the Festival - the children of St. Gloria s Cultural
Troupe from Lagos, Nigeria. In native costume these children,
ages 6-11 years old, will perform many of the traditional Nigerian
tribal dances as well as the Zulu Dance and the Fisherman’s
Dance. |
