In conjunction with the Art Walk\, a reception in W-16 from 6-7 pm will bring together artists\, the general public and members of the Ass ociation of Interior Design Professionals (AIDP) to talk about incorporati ng original art into interior designs. The interior design professionals will visit the artist studios with their clients and other interested par ties during Art Walk hours.

The partnership between the Workhouse Arts Center and the AIDP encourages a Merger of Art and De sign...to create...MAD Artists! The AIDP reception is the perfect time vie w the MAD! Artist Vignette\, a room setting displayed in W-16 and created through the partnership of an AIDP member and the Workhouse MAD! Artist of the Month. NEW! Visitors can also meet the Designer’s Choice Artist of the Month!

\nAlso join us i n Gallery W-16 during this 2nd Saturday Art Walk to celebrate the opening of the new Workhouse Artists Association and the Workhouse Art Guild exhib ition. This exhibit will be on display July 7- August 1 in Gallery W-16\ , 1st Floor.

Since their beginning\, more than two years ago\, the inspiration of

Eblen Macari.- Acoustic guitar and Jarana jarocha: Macari
has a 30 year career that has developed a unique and personal style for c
reating music\, mixing Middle East rhythms\, ambient soundscapes and conte
mporary modal harmony with his 8 and 6 string guitars\, mexican jarana and
electronic devices. He has composed original music for documentaries\, fi
lms\, tv series\, museums\, archeological sites and planetariums. He has traveled around the world playing with his group Eblen Macari Trio\, He has produced 13 CDs.
\n
Mauricio Sotelo.- Chapman Sti ck\, and 12 string acoustic guitar: He is a member of the group < strong>Cabezas de Cera\, a progressive rock band from Mexico\, in which he plays several string instruments. He has developed a personal wa y to play and process the instruments created by his brother and drummer o f CDC\, Francisco Sotelo. With this band he has recorded 5 albums has performed in festivals around Europe\, Asia\, South and North America. Recently\, the band released a DVD recorded live in 2009 at the prestigious North East Art Rock Festival.

Kabalán Macari.- Cajón Peruano\, Darbuka and Pandero Jaroc ho: This young percussionist has different projects in Mexico Cit y and most of the time is part of the group of his father “Eblen Macari Trio”.
